Build
Date Code
Starts with the Julian date (day of the year) on which 1991 production started.
The build date code continues with the Julian date until December 31 (365). The
sequence then continues until the end of the 1990 production. EXAMPLE: January
20, 1991 would translate to a build date code of 385.

Note:
In addition to the transmission production code number, all passenger cars have
a portion of the vehicle identification number stamped on the transmission. The
condensed vehicle identification number consists of the division identification
number, model year, assembly plant designation and vehicle build sequence
number.
The Rear
Axle Codes
Is a two letter code stamped on the front passenger side of the axle tube or on
an identification tag attached to the carrier cover. It identifies that axle
code ratio and if the axle is equipped with the Safe-T-Track option.
In 1990 The Borg & Warner was dropped and only the Saginaw rear axel remained, These all have 10 cover bolts, and a 7.625" size Carrier
